Mike Romero

Senior Program Manager

Education

I earned a BA in English Language and Literature, as well as a Letter of Specialization in Professional Writing and Technical Communications, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Biography

Following my undergraduate education, I chose to remain in Massachusetts’ Pioneer Valley and entered the field of International Education. I spent two years as a Program Coordinator for a private education abroad provider before returning to my alma mater as a member of staff in the UMass Amherst International Programs Office. From 2017 to 2022, I served as the Coordinator for Academic Initiatives, focusing primarily on the coordination of short-term, faculty-led study education abroad programs. I also served as an advisor for undergraduate students interested in studying abroad and was elected Vice President of the Massachusetts Council for International Education in 2020.

I joined the MHCBM Staff in September 2022 and look forward to supporting the faculty, students, and mission of the program going forward.
