Diverse Clinical Opportunities

Boston Medical Center BMC lawn
Boston Medical Center, our affiliate hospital, is just one of the many clinical training options available.

One of the most outstanding features of our Masters program is our clinical training model and clinical training field placement opportunities.  Individualized attention and advising is given to each student to help create a training plan that considers the clinical and developmental needs of the student.  We have relationships with over 200 sites to explore.

As part of the field placement search process, students will be guided through:

  • preparation of application materials
  • investigation of modalities and site opportunities
  • job search and application skills
  • professional correspondence and interviewing
  • validation of licensure requirements

With this process of support and guidance in place, students are required to identify opportunities, apply and interview with community based providers to secure a field training site. This approach provides trainees with direct experience with job searching and interviewing, relevant to their career goals.

Field training is an integral time for students to develop a professional identity.  Through clinical work students gain experience working with clients and become increasingly knowledgeable about the mental healthcare system.
