Academic Programs

Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) is the center of graduate education in the biomedical sciences at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, offering over 30 PhD, MD/PhD, MA and MS degrees across 15 different departments and program areas. Students benefit from our location within the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (SOM),  and our collaboration with the Boston Medical Center, BU’s  Chobanian & Avedisian SOM primary teaching affiliate.

Masters and PhD Programs

Students can focus on a single area of study or explore multiple scientific interests through interdisciplinary and university-wide programs, dual degree programs and specialty concentrations.

The Boston University Medical Campus’s world-class faculty has established collaborations between clinical and basic science investigators, providing students with the unique opportunity to participate in translational and cross-disciplinary research using state-of-the art core facilities.
