Student Representative Committee

Welcome to the Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program at the Boston University School of Medicine. As Student Representative Committee members, we are an integral part of the program. The Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program relies heavily on student feedback and, as such, the student representatives act as a voice for the student body and a liaison between faculty and students.

We are a self-selected group of first- and second-year students who work together on a wide variety of projects, including:

  • Quarterly Program Newsletter: a compilation of updates from current students, alumni and faculty keeping everyone informed of professional and personal news published in a quarterly newsletter
  • Mentoring Program: links current students with incoming students in an effort to answer questions incoming students may have and help ease the transition into graduate school
  • Program Seminars: discussions and presentations with topics ranging from developing a private practice, to personal and professional balance, to play therapy. We as the student reps contribute to this seminar series by identifying topics and needs we and our fellow students find interesting.
  • Social events: including Halloween bowling, a holiday potluck, and cultural movie nights, giving a chance for first and second year students and faculty to get to know one another outside the classroom setting
