GMSSO Upcoming Events
GMSSO Event Recap 2024
GlamourGals Volunteering
On November 6th, we had another great time volunteering with Glamour Gals at Susan S. Bailis Assisted Living! We reconnected with familiar residents and met new faces, spending the evening coloring, working on puzzles, and giving manicures. This event helped us deepen bonds with the senior residents and build friendships among students across GMS programs. We are all looking forward to the next event and more great memories together!
Thank you to the volunteers who participated! We hope to see you at our next event!
GMSSO Halloween Cruise
On November 2nd, a group of GMSSO grad students boarded a spooky Halloween-themed boat filled with zombie decorations and stories of nearby haunted islands and lighthouses. Dressed in spooky costumes, they shared laughs, enjoyed Halloween tunes, and snapped photos with Salem’s historic sights as the perfect backdrop. With festive vibes, great company, and all the Halloween spirit, it was a chillingly unforgettable adventure! Here’s to more events like this in the future! 👻🎃
BMC Rooftop Farm Volunteering
On October 20th, we had a fantastic time volunteering at the Boston Medical Center’s Rooftop Farm! Our group helped harvest fresh carrots while supporting the hospital’s mission to provide healthy, locally-grown produce to patients and the community.
It was a great experience to contribute to sustainable agriculture and connect with others in different GMS programs. Everyone worked hard, and we left feeling fulfilled, knowing that our efforts will help make a difference.
Thank you to all the volunteers who joined and made this event a success!
GlamourGals Volunteering
On October 2nd, we had a wonderful time collaborating with Glamour Gals at the Susan S Bailis Assisted Living. This volunteer opportunity focused on bringing joy and connection to senior residents through beauty experiences. Volunteers shared stories, listened, and offered companionship, strengthening the bond between seniors and students. We plan to continue collaborating with Glamour Gals in the future!
Thank you to all the volunteers who joined and helped make this event meaningful!
