J. Robert McKee, MBA, DSc(c)

Bob McKee has more than 30 years of experience in Fire/Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management, Disaster Preparedness and Crisis Planning. He has worked at the local, state, federal and international government levels in emergency response and crisis management.

Bob was the Agency Chief for Texas Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue, and the ESF-9 Director of the State of Texas. He has responded to State and Federal incidents for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), serving on the DHS/FEMA Incident Management Team.

Bob served as a Division Director at Texas A&M University overseeing the development and training of Disaster City for worldwide participants. The Agency trained in more than 220,000 students a year, the program was successful in developing many national and international partnerships.

Before moving to Texas, Bob served as Fire Chief and Paramedic for Mad River Fire Department in Ohio. He belongs to a number of organizations and committees that continue to have impact on the policy, doctrine, and future of emergency management education and research. He has been the author of several publications, research projects, and standards as a part of his journey to bring applied practice, research, and academia together within this sector.

Among Bob’s deployments, he has served on many State and Federal disaster response teams including the World Trade Center on 9/11, Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster, Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Ike, and the Haiti Earthquake Response.

Bob currently teaches GMS BC700 – The Disaster Life Cycle and GMS BC630 Ethical & Policy Issues in Health and Medical Services Emergency Management in the Master of Science in Healthcare Emergency Management Program. He also co-teaches GMS IM600 Bioimaging Foundations in the Master of Science in Bioimaging Program.

Bob will be completing his doctoral studies in Civil Security Leadership, Management and Policy at New Jersey City University in the Fall of 2018.
