Dr. Vipul Chitalia receives the NIH R-21 award to study the role of intra-vascular ultrasound in central venous stenosis in ESRD patients. The main objective of the study is to gain a deeper understanding of the types of lesions constituting central venous stenosis and their responses to the endovascular interventional therapies.
Steven C. Borkan receives the NIH RO-1 Grant to Study Ischemic AKI
Dr. Borkan receives the NIH RO-1 award entitled: “Nucleophosmin Centered Diagnostics & Treatment of Ischemic Acute Kidney Injury”. The primary objective of his study is to harness nucleophosmin, a key cell death protein, as a potential rapid diagnostic and effective therapeutic target for ischemic AKI in our patients.
