Kidney Transplantation

The Kidney Transplantation Program at Boston Medical Center has been serving patients in New England and beyond since 1977. We care for the region’s most ethnically and racially diverse group of kidney transplant recipients and donors, and, among kidney transplant recipients added to our wait-list in the last 5 years, 33% are Black, 30% are White, 30% are of Hispanic ethnicity and 8% are of Asian heritage. Our transplant nephrologists work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team that includes transplant surgeons, donor surgeons, transplant co-ordinators, dieticians, pharmacists, social workers, psychiatrists, and other sub-specialty physicians.
