In addition to fellowship accomplishments, as the Director of Research and Scholarship (2018-present) and an Associate Program Director (2012-2018) of the medicine residency program, Dr. Upadhyay was instrumental in establishing the Promoting Research in Medical Residency Program, an innovative research training and research chief residency program funded through a highly competitive NIH-R38 grant, and the Framingham Heart Study pathway for residents interested in cardiovascular research. He also serves as a field specific advisor for medical students, and mentors trainees at all levels of undergraduate and post-graduate medical education.
