Announcing Our New GMS Graphic Design

Dear Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine Community,

We are excited to unveil a new graphic design element for Graduate Medical Sciences. This element is the culmination of several months of work and partnership between GMS leadership, GMS Marketing & Communications and the larger Boston University Marketing & Communications team.

The new element includes the tagline “Make A Difference,” which GMS has used previously. We believe that creating and using a dedicated graphic element including the tagline will help to support the GMS brand identity, unify our 30+ programs under one message and ultimately, connect and build relationships with prospective students.

The element includes our three GMS-branded colors: red, yellow and blue. Yellow represents our master’s programs, blue represents our PhD programs and red represents Boston University, as it umbrellas all our schools and programs. Our tagline ultimately represents our goal for our graduates to make a difference in the world, shown by the element’s circular design.

The element is approved for use in most places, except as a social media icon. It cannot be used on its own; rather, it must be used alongside the official Boston University Graduate Medical Sciences logo. We plan to use this element to update The GMS Press, official GMS PowerPoint presentations and GMS event and informational flyers.

Please click here to see examples of approved element usage. Our Marketing & Communications team will also add updated templates to the “Branding” drop-down of the GMS Faculty & Staff webpage.

If you have any questions about element usage, please reach out to GMS Marketing & Communications Specialist Mike Bloom (mjbloom@bu.edu) and GMS Public Relations Associate Sarah Rowan (srowan@bu.edu).

Please join me in celebrating our new graphic design element and our ongoing commitment to training the next generation of difference-makers in clinical, health-related and biomedical sciences disciplines.

Cheers,

C. James McKnight
Associate Provost & Dean of Graduate Medical Sciences
