Medicine Clerkship
The Medicine Clerkship is an eight-week clinical experience designed to cultivate the student’s development as a compassionate, increasingly independent clinician within a multidisciplinary care team. Students learn clinical medicine through direct patient care alongside residents and faculty, gradually assuming greater responsibility as their knowledge and skills advance. The clerkship also incorporates small-group sessions focused on refining essential clinical skills such as communication, physical diagnosis, and clinical reasoning, supplemented by conferences covering core internal medicine topics. Divided into two four-week blocks, the rotation provides exposure to one or two clinical sites. The overarching goal is to prepare students to become professional, empathetic, and knowledgeable clinicians who function effectively as collaborative team members and self-directed learners in the field of internal medicine.
