Neurology Clerkship

The Neurology clerkship is designed to provide a foundational understanding of neurological diseases encountered in both inpatient and outpatient settings. It aims to prepare students to recognize and manage neurological conditions in their future medical practice, regardless of specialty. The clerkship emphasizes the skills of taking a focused neurological history, conducting a neurological examination for lesion localization, and synthesizing clinical information to develop differential diagnoses and treatment plans. Students gain exposure to chronic neurological disorders in outpatient clinics, acute neurological conditions in the inpatient setting, as well as practical training in lumbar puncture indications, contraindications, and technique through simulation. Additionally, the clerkship offers guidance and support for students considering Neurology as a career.
