Pediatrics Clerkship

The Pediatric Clerkship aims to develop students’ ability to provide comprehensive care for patients from birth to age 22, emphasizing developmentally appropriate, family-centered, and biopsychosocial approaches. The clerkship challenges students to integrate foundational medical knowledge across diverse age groups, from neonatal genetics and embryology to adolescent medicine. It prioritizes the refinement of clinical and communication skills, focusing on building strong relationships with patients and families while tailoring examination and interactions to the patient’s developmental stage. Success in this clerkship requires enthusiasm, professionalism, creativity, and resourcefulness, preparing students to meet the unique needs of pediatric patients effectively.
