Fellowship Graduate Spotlight: Dr. Najia Idrees

Congratulations to Dr. Najia Idrees, MD, a recent graduate of Boston University and Boston Medical Center’s Nephrology Fellowship Training Program! Originally from Pakistan, Najia joined BMC as a fellow in 2020 after choosing to pursue medicine due to her passion to serve and make a difference. She was drawn to the diversity within BMC’s Nephrology section and patient population, with a variety of pathologies to learn from. She has enjoyed studying physiology and working with the section’s diverse, friendly, and supportive attendings. Najia is proud of everything she has learned and achieved during her time in fellowship, including the clinic patients she has built relationships with, her ASN and Evans Day 2021 poster presentations, the publishing of her first editorial, and being awarded “Fellow of the Year” at her graduation. Outside of work, Najia enjoys swimming, cooking, and walking and biking along the Charles River. Najia has entered academic Nephrology practice and says she will always be grateful for her experience at BMC.
