Drew Weissman (CAMED ’87, GRS ’87). Weissman earned both and MD and PhD from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, studying microbiology and immunology.

Drew Weissman (CAMED ’87, GRS ’87, Hon’23), alongside his research collaborator, Katalin Karikó, won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their work in pioneering the technology behind the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

Weissman earned both an MD and PhD from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, studying microbiology and immunology.
