Now Accepting Spring MBTA Semester Pass Orders
Parking and Transportation Services is now accepting Spring MBTA Semester Pass orders!
Is the MBTA Semester Pass right for me? Maybe. In general, Semester Passes are only a good value for commuting students and those who use the MBTA very frequently (more than 34 trips on the T per month).
Semester Passes are not usually the most cost-effective fare option for students living on campus. We recommend that these students get a CharlieCard and add value to it.
Spring MBTA Student Semester Passes allow unlimited trips for the months of February, March, April, and May at an 11% discount relative to the MBTA’s monthly pass rate. Pass costs vary depending on type (Local Bus, Inner Express, Outer Express, Link, Commuter Rail, or Boat).
The most popular pass type – the $320 LinkPass – provides the passholder with unlimited trips on local buses and all subway (“T”) lines, including the Green Line.

Applications for Spring Semester Passes must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023.
To apply:
· go to Transportation Management Portal
· login using your Boston University login name and Kerberos password,
· select “New Permit or Pass”
Applications, cancellations, or requests for refunds cannot be accepted after the MBTA Semester Pass deadline.
