GMS Students Meet New C3 Peer Mentors at Final Summer Ice Cream Social

Several C3 Peer Mentors and Dr. Theresa Davies mingle with students at the August Ice Cream Social.

The Community Catalyst Center’s final Ice Cream Social drew a busy crowd of students, faculty and staff to the C3 Suite on Wednesday, August 24.

With double the ice cream and toppings available, the social was a perfect chance for the GMS community – both current and incoming – to mingle and get to know one another before the fall semester officially kicks off in just over one week.

This month, some of C3’s newest Peer Mentors also joined in on the fun to introduce themselves as points of contact to help current and incoming students thrive on campus. These individuals were selected by the C3 administrative team to help GMS continue its mission of community building and student engagement throughout the academic year.

C3’s mission is to foster holistic success for the diverse GMS student community, helping students acclimate to Boston and the Medical Campus, adjust to graduate-level academics and gain a sense of belonging early on in their programs.

The center welcomes all GMS students, and its mentors work across five specific affinity groups: gSOC (students of color), gFIRST (first-generation students), gMAV (military and veteran students), gPLUS (LGBTQIA+ students) and gGLOBAL (international students). C3 has also introduced a Disability Support Network to support GMS community members with disabilities.
