Coffee Conversations Over Intersession With Your Friendly GMS Staff Member

Dear Students,

This year has certainly been a crazy one, and for some of us, it has been the most challenging as of yet. You have made it through the fall semester (some of you 3 semesters!) of learning remotely with the Learn from Anywhere hybrid model. Many of you have made it through moving to a new city and starting the next chapter of your life – graduate school. You should all be proud of the obstacles you have had to overcome!

As a country, we have made it through a historical presidential election season. We have experienced our everyday lives turning upside down with COVID-19. We have seen the Black Lives Matter movement become magnified. Many of these things have had a profound effect on us, as well as our families and friends. The holiday season may not look like what we’re used to – sharing a meal over Zoom, as opposed to in person; cooking a family recipe ourselves, instead of enjoying the dish that our relative made; staying home, as opposed to travel out of state- but we are all doing the best we can.

Considering all of the changes we may have to make to keep ourselves and our families safe, the holiday season may not be as easy for some to get through. As we transition into the holidays, we will be offering Coffee Chats Over Intersession with Your Friendly GMS Staff Member for any student that would just like some company. These chats can be scheduled through this calendar on any day of Intersession. Just request a chat time and grab some coffee (or tea)!

In GMS, we take care of one another.

Sincerely,

Kimberly & Farrah
