Launch of Boston University Center for Military and Post Deployment Health

We are very excited to launch the Boston University Center for Military and Post Deployment Health. All members of the GMS community are welcome to the inaugural meeting of the Center on Friday, January 29th from 2-5pm at the Boston University School of Medicine in room L110.

An overview of the Center will be followed by short presentations to summarize military health work being conducted across both Boston University campuses. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be contacting various physicians and researchers to present these summaries.

After the presentations, participants will self-select into breakout groups based on area of interest. Currently identified areas of interest are:

– TBI
– PTSD
– Infectious Disease
– Wound and Burn Healing
– Prosthetics
– Health and Wellness: Soldier and Family
– Cognition
– Pulmonary
– Hearing
– Vision

This list is open to expansion based on suggestions from meeting participants. Participants will reconvene to report out at the conclusion of the meeting. All participants are invited to attend a wine and cheese reception immediately following the meeting.

Please RSVP to monicapj@bu.edu no later than January 15, 2016. We hope you are able to join us!
