Fall 2021 Loan Awarding & Reductions

If you have not borrowed up to the cost of attendance and planned on requesting additional federal financial aid to be awarded as a fall only loan, please contact our office by November 30th with your request. On the other hand, if you have borrowed more loan funds than you need and would like to return funds to your lender, please contact us as well to advise us of the changes you wish to see on your account. In both instances, please email your request from your BU email account to osfs-gms@bu.edu and include your BU ID number.

2021-22 COA Increase Appeal Process

The Cost of Attendance (COA) Increase appeal process is ongoing for the 2021-22 academic year. You can view the information about the appeal process, qualifying expenses that can be considered, and access the 2021-22 Cost of Attendance Increase Request form on our website. If you have any questions about this process, please contact our office at osfs-gms@bu.edu.

Student Loan Exit Counseling

If you are graduating in January 2022 and have you received federal student loans, you are required to complete the Federal Student Loan Exit Counseling before graduation.

Changes to Spring 2021 Enrollment     

If you have finalized your Spring 2022 registration and no longer are enrolled as you anticipated and reported to SFS in your GMS Aid Application, please email our office at osfs-gms@bu.edu. Adjustments to your cost of attendance and/or financial aid award may be necessary as financial aid is awarded based on your enrollment plans listed on your financial aid application.
