Dear Incoming GMS Students,

As part of the orientation programming on August 31st, we are holding two scheduled Resource Fair sessions. These two sessions will be identical in their content to accommodate your schedule throughout the day.

The first session will be held from 2:00pm EST – 3:00pm EST, and the second session will be held from 4:00pm EST – 5:00pm EST.

Below, you will find a list of all student organizations, groups and resources that will be available to connect with you across both sessions. Take a moment to check out each of their 1 minute preview video (or webpage) to get a sense for who they are and how you can join their organization or utilize their office/resource.

On Orientation Day, click the time you’d like to join each student organization, group or resource and it’ll take you directly to the zoom meeting!

The BU Biotech Consulting Club works on case studies in life sciences and biotech, and provides career development for transitioning into the consulting industry.

  The Biomedical PhD Student Organization aims to build and strengthen community among PhD programs at BUMC; fosters professional relationships between students, faculty, and alumni; promotes interdisciplinary research at BU; and cultivates camaraderie among biomedical science doctoral students.

The Science & Technology in Public Policy is committed to fostering a community of scientists engaged public policy. They promote understanding of the role of science in dictating policy both nationally and internationally, support graduate students and post-docs on the path to developing a career in policy, communicate the importance of science-led initiatives in registration to the general public.

  The Women’s Professional Development Committee provides a supportive space to host professional development opportunities for graduate-level women in science. They strive to establish and cultivate a network of exemplary mentorship with women in a variety of scientific careers.

The BUMC Toastmasters is where you’ll learn how to speak comfortably in front of a group and lead with purpose. You will regularly practice skills that make you a more confident speaker and leader.   The Climate Action Group works to engage the community in environmental advocacy through a variety of climate initiatives including climate change education for health professionals, improves campus sustainability, reduces the University’s use of non-renewable energy, and explores the role of climate change in impacting human health and wellbeing.

The Graduate Women in Science & Engineering organization strives to create a community to support and promote women in science, technology, engineering and math fields.
