Alum Semmy Adeleke entering medical school

We were very proud when we heard that recent Nutrition & Metabolism alumna, Ayomide “Semmy” Adeleke has been admitted to medical school in the coming fall! Semmy will be attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine, joining the class of 2024. She plans to be involved in the Urban Health Program. She also hopes to shadow, network, and volunteer in many different specialties of medicine. Semmy said, “I look forward to spending my free time exploring Chicago and getting to know the community. I’m interested in exploring the pediatric and endocrinology specialties.”

Semmy graduated with her M.S. in Nutrition & Metabolism in May 2019 after earning her B.A. in Biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. While in the Nutrition & Metabolism program, she wrote her thesis on “ATGL-1 and Longevity in C. elegans.”

Congratulations, Semmy! Good luck in medical school!
