HEM: Calling 911 Doesn’t Mean They’ll Be Able to Find You

The current 911 system is often unreliable when it comes to tracking caller location. Sometimes GPS coordinates are not available, and when they are, they can be less accurate than the information provided by the caller. Dispatch personnel tend to rely on information provided by callers as a result—which has been problematic when callers have been in extreme distress.
