Welcome!

This site provides current and future Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine students with information about opportunities in Psychiatry. Click on our links to the left to find out more about courses offered during the four years of training at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

Psychiatry is integrated in all 4 years of medical school education. In Year 1, courses give students first hand experience in conducting clinical interviewing with real patients and teach how behavior can impact health and functioning. In Year 2, students gain a greater understanding of more advanced principles of psychiatry and the application of the biopsychosocial model to patient care. In Year 3 students are matched with one of our clinical sites for a 6-week psychiatry clerkship, and in the 4th year students can choose from 7 different psychiatry electives. If you are interested in attending Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, please visit the Office of Admissions for more information about the application process.
