Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship

The Boston University Medical Center Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship is a one-year, fully accredited program designed to train academic consultation-liaison psychiatrists to be leaders in the field. A unique quality of the program is its ability to provide fellows with clinical exposure in two distinct clinical systems, Boston Medical Center and the VA Boston Healthcare System.

Over the course of the year, fellows will develop expertise in the psychiatric care of the medically ill patient. With direct supervision, fellows will manage high-acuity patients on both an inpatient CL service as well as in longitudinal outpatient clinics. Clinical work is supplemented by didactic seminars and participation in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, individual supervision, and scholarly or research activities. An important aspect of the program is the development of teaching, leadership, and administrative skills as fellows work with other health care providers and supervise residents and medical students.
