Propelling Rise of Faculty (PRoF)

The long-term goal of the PRoF program is to propel the advancement in faculty rank of early career faculty.

Faculty promotion requires meeting specific criteria, but knowing how to navigate the academic system to meet these criteria is not always clear.

Academic promotion relies heavily on productive scholarship, which requires knowing how to:

  • formulate a scholarly project,
  • establish collaborations,
  • gain sponsorship by senior faculty, and
  • manage work-life balance.

What PRoF Does

PRoF facilitates the matching of an early career faculty Mentee with a senior faculty Mentor. Early career faculty are those who are ranked at the level of Instructor or Assistant Professor (5 years or less).

The next cohort will launch June 2026. Surveys for mentor-mentee matches will be sent out in late February and will close in late March. PRoF matches will be notified by late April or early May.

If you have questions about the PRoF program, send an email to Elaine Lee and Felipe Agudelo.
