Summer program snapshot

Leaving Charles River Campus early in the morning  summer  interns take the BU  shuttle  to the Medical Campus and their daily work at the laboratory bench. They struggle to learn scientific techniques, design experiments, analyze results and accomplish  an independent research project for the August 5 summer symposium .  While not all  projects will yield conclusive results in ten weeks of research everyone  will have  MADE a contribution they can call their own.

Mentors, available to guide eager learners, are in the lab as principal investigators, managers, technicians,  postdocs and Ph.D. students.  While  opportunities to network  pop up informally at the picnic table or shuttle bus,  weekly science talks and professional development workshops offer another way to make new science connections and friendships.  As the week winds down  rest and relaxation does arrive in all its forms –  sightseeing , shopping, restaurants, concerts, sports, movies, and believe it or not wondering what discovery might be uncovered during the next experiment.
