Tuition, Financial Aid, and Other Financial Assistance Information
Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) seeks to enable all motivated and talented students to achieve their academic and professional potential. Most educational loans offer more favorable terms than other consumer loans, so we encourage students to apply for these loans before considering other financing options. Educational loans must be repaid, so we suggest you only borrow what is necessary.
Eligibility for federal student loans is determined through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The student is always the applicant/borrower, and annual maximum loan amounts apply. All applicants must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid annually to be considered for federal funding. All incoming students will receive a financial aid email with instructions and links to the forms and information you will need to complete in order to apply for federal and/or private lender loans. The financial aid information typically becomes available in April each year, soon after the new tuition rates and budget allowance information has been determined by the university.
Although the financial assistance office is unable to begin processing any federal and/or private loan requests until the student has been officially registered for the semester, it is strongly suggested that students begin reviewing the financial assistance information and loan programs available so when the time comes to apply for your loans, you will know from which lender/s you will request your funding.
Please look into the Federal Direct Loan. It is sponsored by the federal government.
