Massachusetts law requires all students who are enrolled in at least 75 percent of the full-time curriculum (9 credits) to carry medical insurance.
All students will be charged for Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) at the beginning of each academic year on your student account.
Review the SHIP plan details for further information about coverage benefits.
If you are already covered by your parents’ or your spouse’s health insurance plans, you could be eligible to waive the SHIP through the Student Link.
Students who are not covered by a third party’s health insurance will need to obtain coverage.
If you plan on keeping the SHIP, and you are looking to borrow credit-based loans to pay for the SHIP, please email your SFS college representative to indicate that you plan to keep the SHIP.
Low-cost options for some qualifying students can be obtained through the MassHealth Health Connector. Please visit the Health Connector website for more information about enrollment data, and application details.
