Applying for Aid
You are making one of the most important investments of your life, and SFS is here to support you throughout your journey. The process of applying for financial aid can be challenging, but whether you are a prospective applicant or a continuing student, our goal is to make it as simple as possible.
You will be asked to provide information about you and your family’s income and assets. Once we have reviewed your application materials, and determined your demonstrated need, an award notification will be provided to you.
Both prospective and continuing students have access to SFS staff year-round by email, phone, or in-person. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Application process for prospective students
Apply for aid at the same time you apply for admission. Your financial aid application will in no way impact your chances of admission.

Reapplication process for current students
Applying for financial aid is an annual process. You can apply for financial aid at any time during your period of enrollment. If you applied for aid in the previous academic year, we will automatically email you instructions for reapplying.

Summer aid applications for School of Public Health (SPH) and Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) students
Summer financial aid applications are available to SPH and GMS students beginning in March each year. Students will be contacted at their BU email address once the application is available. Visit the SPH and GMS Applying for Aid pages for updates.
