Applying for Aid
You are making one of the most important investments of your life, and SFS is here to support you throughout your journey. The process of applying for financial aid can be confusing, but whether you are a prospective applicant or a continuing student, our goal is to make it as simple as possible.
You will be asked to provide information about you and your family’s income and assets. Once we have reviewed your application materials, and determined your demonstrated need, an award notification will be provided to you.
Both prospective and continuing students have access to SFS staff year-round by email, phone, or in-person. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions or concerns.
Update on 2024-2025 FAFSA
Due to the numerous changes made to the 2024-2025 FAFSA by the Department of Education there are currently numerous corrections and updates being made to submitted FAFSAs before being sent to institutions (including Boston University). FAFSA filers should receive updates from Federal Student Aid regarding the status of their application. Please allow several weeks for your 2024-2025 FAFSA to be received and reviewed by our office once you are notified it has been sent to Boston University. Incoming and continuing students can check the status of the 2024-2025 FAFSA with Boston University by monitoring their financial aid checklist on MyBU Student.
