Thoracic Aortic Disease
Program Overview
The Thoracic Aortic Disease Center consists of a multidisciplinary team specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients having diseases of the thoracic aorta. The team includes specialists in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, vascular surgery, radiology and human genetics.
The surgical treatment of thoracic aortic aneurysm requires the surgeon to remove the damaged part of the thoracic aorta and replace it with a synthetic graft or human aortic tissue. Thoracic aortic disease is complex in nature, and our surgeons are experts in defining the extent of the disease, as well as performing the required operation safely. In addition, our caring professionals will provide follow-up and family counseling necessary for the hereditary forms of aortic disease, such as Marfan syndrome.
