Boston is a vibrant, international city offering a mix of history, culture, cuisine, and natural beauty. As a cardiology fellow at Boston Medical Center, you’ll have the opportunity to explore all that this dynamic city has to offer. Fellows often gather after work to enjoy the latest restaraunts, shows, or outdoor activities, with many also venturing outside the city for skiing or hiking in nearby parks and nature preserves.
Boston Medical Center is located in the historic South End, where some fellows live within walking or biking distance of work. Others choose to reside in nearby neighborhoods such as South Boston, Fenway, Cambridge, Brookline, Back Bay, Jamaica Plain, or Medford.
The VA, located in Roxbury, is about a 35-40 minute drive from BMC. While many fellows have cars for commuting, others use carpool, use Zipcar, or take Lyft/Uber. If you bring a car, street parking is typically free with a permit from the City of Boston, and discounted daily parking is available at BMC for housestaff.
