David Coleman, MD, Junior Faculty Prize

David Coleman, MD, has departed BU-BMC following more than 15 years as Chair of the Department of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Physician-in-Chief at Boston Medical Center. A board-certified internist and infectious disease specialist, Dr. Coleman is a gifted leader, and has been widely recognized for his contributions to medical professionalism and program development in research and education.

To honor the outstanding dedication of Dr. Coleman to mentoring and innovative research, the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is proud to establish the David Coleman, MD, Junior Faculty Prize. The award will recognize junior faculty members in the Department of Medicine who exemplify excellence in research and good citizenship as demonstrated by volunteer leadership, contributions to educational initiatives, and a commitment to diversity. The prize will be presented as part of the annual Evans Days.

Thanks to the generous support from donors, to date we have received over $68,000 towards our goal of $100,000 to endow the fund, ensuring that the award will be granted to a Department of Medicine junior faculty each year in perpetuity.  Please consider joining the list of donors below in supporting this fund to honor the legacy of such a wonderful colleague, teacher, mentor, and friend.
