Congratulations! You have worked very hard and have achieved your goal of getting into medical school. We welcome you to our BUSM community. Medical school is an experience like no other, and all students make various adjustments when they begin this new endeavor… Some students are moving away from a support system for the first time, some students have been away from academics for a period of time, some students have family responsibilities… As all students make the transition, we are here to support you as you adjust to the volume and pace of medical school.
You are beginning an incredible journey, and as you do, you are invited to meet with us for any reason. We look forward to supporting you in your goal of excelling in medical school!

Each year of medical school brings new and exciting challenges. Now that you are here, you will be working even harder to achieve your next goals: excelling in medical school, excelling on the national board exams, choosing a specialty, and getting into residency. While you work toward these very admirable goals, be sure to balance your hard work with making new friends, and taking care of yourself and each other.

Throughout your years at BUSM you will have many resources available to help you excel in your academic and career goals. We invite you to explore these programs, and we look forward to working with you.
During your first year, we offer a series of workshops designed to optimize your learning, as well as a series of seminars to introduce you to Careers in Medicine.
During your second year, we offer an extensive Board Review Program to assist in maximizing your preparation for the USMLE Step 1 exam.
