Central Services
Information Technology provides central computing facilities to the faculty and staff of the Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC).
Approximately sixty centrally managed Microsoft Windows servers are functionally configured to provide development and production services for the web; centralized network log-in authentication and configuration for clients; centralized network backup; Microsoft Exchange groupware services; Outlook Web Access; file services; application services; database services; virtual private network (VPN) service; Terminal Services, for supporting remote clients; and various additional services.
In partnership with other groups within BUMC and at Charles River Campus, Central Services provides the back-office infrastructure that supports the more visible efforts of BUMC IT.
