2021 Corwin Award

We are happy to announce that Allison Thomas from the Sagar lab is the recipient of Microbiology’s 2021 Corwin Award. The Corwin Award was established in 1994 to recognize a Microbiology Graduate Student who displays the qualities of an outstanding departmental “citizen”, one whose exemplary scholarly and/or scientific achievement, values of collegiality and scientific integrity, and active participation in department and campus activities best epitomize the contributions of the former member of our department, Larry Corwin. Allison embodies all of these qualities and richly deserves this award!

Aditya Mithal Successfully Defends Dissertation

Neelou Etesami Receives NIH F30 Award

Congratulations to Neelou Etesami in the Mizgerd lab who was awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) F30 Individual Predoctoral Fellowship Award from National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for her work on protective lung memory B cell functions and dynamics during respiratory infection. Good job, Neelou!

Christine Odom Receives NIH F31 Award

Congratulations to Christine Odom in the Quinton lab who was awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) F31 Individual Predoctoral Fellowship Award from National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for her work on Liver-Dependent Lung Remodeling and Pneumonia Susceptibility During Endotoxemia.
