Quincy Medical Center

Quincy Medical Center is a community 160 bed hospital which recently became a teaching affiliate of the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine surgery residency program. Currently, R-2 and R-3 residents rotate for a 10 week block. During their time at QMC, residents interact primarily with Boston Medical Center faculty stationed at Quincy Medical Center (Boston Medical Center Surgical Associates at QMC). Residents average between 80 and 100 major cases during their rotation covering all of the major subspecialties within surgery namely general, thoracic, vascular and Head and neck. In addition, the residents function primarily as senior residents, given the absence of an R-4 or R-5 resident. Finally, both third and fourth year medical students from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine also rotate through QMC as part of their graduate medical education.
