Due to the early academic year start for some dental student populations, Student Financial Support is able to offer an loan advance for living expenses for the available fall 2026 refund advance. This loan advance is not separate from your loan funding, it is merely an advance of the loan funding you anticipate for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Students will still receive their anticipated financial aid awards including any renewal of institutional scholarship funding at a later date and the remainder of any anticipated financial aid for the 2026-2027 academic year will be applied accordingly.

If you would like to request funding to assist with your living expenses please complete the following form. Please read the student consent section carefully as failure to follow all directions and notices can lead to a delay in receiving funding.

By law, these funds cannot be released prior to the start of your programs 2026-2027 academic year.

DMD4: May 18th

Advanced Standing 2: July 13th

This refund request form is currently available to only Goldman School of Dental Medicine students who have begun their Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters for the 2026-2027 academic year. If you are a student who is requesting a refund for a prior academic year, please email osfs-sdm@bu.edu directly.

You must create a Nelnet Student Choice Refund profile to receive an advance. If you are unable to create a profile or receive this payment via a NelNet account, please contact Student Accounts.

The refund advance can be used for the 2026-2027 year as a $5,000 advance of your anticipated loan funds. Refunds and advances will only be offered for students who complete loan and financial aid applications. In cases where your aid has not disbursed after the semester start, this process allows you to access a portion of your refund amount before the actual loan funds credit your account. If you would only like a portion of the total refund, please provide your requested amount below. Otherwise write MAX to access your full refund:

Refunds will be offered for those with complete loan and financial aid applications, and available for students after their first day of classes of the requested semester. The refund will count against your overall refund for the 2026-2027 academic year.
