Federal Work Study Application

Please read all program details below before completing the application for Federal Work Study.

• Federal need-based financial aid program
• Federal Work Study (FWS) allows you to work part-time (approximately 5-20 hours per week) at certain jobs on-campus
• FWS funds are paid via weekly paycheck
• FWS funds do not get applied to charges on your student account
• Intended to cover out of pocket, unbilled expenses
• Summer FWS can only be awarded to students who will be enrolled the following Fall semester
• If you are selected to receive FWS, you will receive a maximum amount you can earn over the course of the academic year
• FWS funds are financial aid funds, and must be included in your financial aid award
• You will be responsible for finding employment
• Once awarded FWS, you can search for jobs on the MyBU Portal, under My Job & Career
