Mission Statement:

The Medical Korean Club aims to foster a community for medical students interested in expanding their understanding of Korean language and culture. Through collaborative learning, we seek to enhance cultural competency in medicine and support equitable, inclusive care for Korean-speaking patients in the Boston community and beyond.

Objectives:

Language and Communication Skills
Offer regular Korean language classes tailored for healthcare settings to help members effectively communicate with Korean-speaking patients.

Promote Cultural Competency in Medicine
Educate members on the unique cultural and healthcare needs of Korean-speaking patients.
Organize guest lectures or panel discussions with Korean healthcare professionals to provide insights into Korean cultural perspectives in healthcare.

Healthcare System Comparisons
Facilitate discussions and research on differences between the Korean and U.S. healthcare systems, examining topics like public health, medical education, and patient care practices.
Encourage members to explore international opportunities, such as rotations or research projects, in South Korea to broaden their global healthcare perspective.
