Timelines and Information for 2025 Residency Application Process
Students will begin the majority of the work for residency application in the third & fourth years.
Third Year 2024-25
September 2024:
October 2024:
- Third Year Class Meeting on the Fourth Year Schedule
November 2024:
- MSPE Dean assignments released, begin meeting with MSPE Dean
- Third Year Class Meeting, “A Look Ahead”, and meet with Fourth Year students
January 2025:
- Third Year Class Meeting on Residency Application; and breakout sessions with Program Directors
Fourth Year 2024-2025

- Start Personal Statement drafts

- ERAS opens for applicants (NRMP and AUA Matches)
- Urology Match information & registration available
- The Central Application Service application program opens (Plastic Surgery and some Anesthesiology) (link not currently available)
- ResidencyCAS application program opens (Obstetrics/Gynecology)
- Military students automatically registered for Army, Air Force and Navy matches
July 2024:
July & August 2024: personal statement workshops
August 2024: transcripts scanned in for the SFMP
September 2024: ERAS is open for application submission to residency programs
September 2024: CaRMS (Canadian Match) opens for application
September 2024: Review MSPE
September 2024: Transcripts scanned into ERAS
Sept. 1, 2024: SFMP Ophthalmology target date for application submission
Sept. 15, 2024: NRMP opens for registration
September 2024: NRMP Program Directors will be able to download ERAS application information.
September 2024: MSPE submitted for students nationwide in all matches.
October 2024: Interview Workshop and mock interviews
October 2024-February 2025: NRMP, AUA and SFMP Residency Interviews
December 2024: Military Match results released
January 2025: Urology Rank Lists due
January 2025: Ophthalmology Rank Lists due
