Ron worked tirelessly along with a university-wide team to open the NEIDL, now an internationally recognized center of excellence for emerging infectious diseases. In addition, the department ranked No. 15 in NIH funding among Microbiology departments in 2022.
The two-day conference was a mix of speakers, workshops, networking, a poster session and awards.

She will complete a project at Ain Shams University in Egypt that aims to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships.
He will join the team of deans in the Student Affairs Office beginning Sept. 1.

The Jerome S. Brody, MD, Professor of Pulmonary Medicine and Director of the Pulmonary Center, will receive the annual American Thoracic Society’s Recognition Award for Scientific Accomplishments.
She is a staunch advocate for the health of children and underserved families.
