Shaun Wason, MD, Named December’s Distinguished Faculty of the Month 

Headshot of Shaun WasonThe Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Shaun Wason, MD, assistant professor of urology, has been named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for December.

Wason joined BU/BMC in 2016 from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He received his bachelor of science in biology and forensic science from the University of Toronto and his MD from Howard University College of Medicine. He completed a residency in urology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery from Eastern Virginia Medical School.

At BU/BMC, Wason is a faculty student advisor in urology and serves on several committees including education, clinical excellence awards, robotic surgery, racial equity and the 3D printing working group. In addition to teaching and advising medical students and residents, he is the third-year urology clerkship director.

His nominators say, “Shaun is an excellent citizen in the BU-BMC community; he has had a tremendous positive impact on the department, the school, and the hospital.

“Dr. Wason is an excellent mentor and role model to students.”
