Jim Vlachos Named February’s Distinguished Staff of the Month

The Dean’s Office is pleased to announce that Jim Vlachos has been named Distinguished Staff of the Month for February.

Jim is an Application Developer II in BUMC IT Application Services, where he is responsible for a wide range of development, reporting, maintenance and support activities including coding, testing, supporting faculty data applications, managing and supporting the BU Profiles website and database, administering BUMC’s FileMaker Server environment and supporting our FileMaker users, and managing support ticket assignment for the entire Application Services group. Jim is a graduate of Boston University and joined the BUMC community as staff in January 2004.

His nominators say, “Jim is prompt, unfailingly courteous, generous, and a diligent problem solver. He gets to the bottom of the issue when there is a systems glitch.”

The nomination states, “He is the classic employee working behind the scenes to make everyone else’s life better.”
