About the Program

At Boston University Neuroradiology we are fortunate to have a collegial and dedicated faculty of 9 neuroradiologists and 3 neuro-interventionalists. Our neuroradiologists have been recognized at national and international levels as writers, researchers, presenters, and leaders of national neuroradiology societies. We take great pride in training and educating our fellows to meet the high standards of our institution.

The neuroradiology fellowship is a one-year ACGME accredited program. Our fellows’ clinical experiences are unique to Boston Medical Center as the largest safety net hospital and busiest Level 1 trauma and emergency services center in New England. We have a structured, blended-curriculum which follows ASNR curriculum guidelines, numerous multi-disciplinary conferences, and unique non-clinical experiences that make the BU Neuroradiology fellowship a special place to train. Our radiology department offers overnight attending and resident coverage making call responsibilities very light for the neuroradiology fellows.

Our equipment is state-of-the-art performing a wide spectrum of neuroimaging modalities. We have GE and Phillips dual-energy CT scanners utilized for stroke (CT angiography and perfusion), trauma, and head and neck cancers. 1.5T and 3.0T MRI scanners perform both conventional and advanced MR imaging including ASL, fMRI, MR perfusion and MR spectroscopy. We are also a comprehensive stroke center with a new bi-plane interventional suite used for diagnostic and therapeutic neuro-endovascular procedures.

One of our greatest assets is our relationship with our referring clinicians. Collaboration in the clinical and educational spaces tremendously benefits all of our patients and trainees. Combined conferences, in-clinic consultations, clinical decision support and joint quality task forces foster a strong team environment which helps all of us become better doctors and optimizes our value as neuroradiologists.
