Mission Statement

The Alumni Medical Library provides a collaborative environment that fosters academic excellence; supports innovative research, teaching, and learning; and encourages outreach across the Boston University Medical Campus community.

Vision Statement

The Alumni Medical Library serves as a central education hub on the Medical Campus. We encourage the exchange of ideas and knowledge; create and maintain partnerships with the Medical Campus community; and support Boston University’s strategic priorities and mission. We guide students, faculty, and staff in biomedical sciences education, research, and innovation by providing equitable services, diverse and professionally skilled staff, and access to strong collections.

DEIA Statement

The Alumni Medical Library is committed to providing a welcoming, accessible and inclusive space and environment for students, faculty and staff. The Library strives to provide equitable access to collections and services and cultivates an atmosphere of respect for patrons and library staff.
We do this by:

Building a team where differences are valued.
Fostering an environment where diverse needs are understood and members of the community act to uphold equity and inclusion.
Partnering with other organizations and collaborating on DEIA initiatives.
