Dr. Sophia Dyer Receives Corey Slovis Award for Excellence in Education

Sophia DyerWe are proud to announce that Dr. Sophia Dyer, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medical Director of Boston EMS, Police & Fire, has received the Corey M. Slovis Award for Excellence in Education!

Created by the U.S. Metropolitan Municipalities Emergency Medical Services Medical Directors Consortium in 2009, this annual award recognizes physicians who have “provided the emergency medical community with incomparable educational achievement and who possess the unique ability to facilitate substantive learning among the public, emergency care providers and colleagues alike.”

Dr. Dyer is a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the Boston City Hospital/Boston Medical Center program, and a fellowship in Medical Toxicology at the Children’s Hospital Boston Regional Center for Poison Control and Prevention. In addition, she has received many prestigious awards throughout her career including the Boston University School of Medicine Alumni Association Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award.
