The Urology Interest Group at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine strives to provide early exposure to medical students to urology. Urology is a unique field that blends clinical medicine and surgery and boasts a friendly atmosphere. It has often been said, “you will never meet an unhappy urologist.” Urology is a pioneer in minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, yet is a field that very few students know about when entering medical school. The Urology Interest Group works with the Urology Department at BMC to increase exposure to this exciting field by providing opportunities to learn about the field through talks, shadowing and research opportunities.
