Biography

Dr. Nkechi Conteh is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and serves as Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Medical Center. Additionally, she serves as Program Director for the Boston University Medical Center General Psychiatry Residency Program. Previously, Dr. Conteh served as an Associate Program Director for the General Psychiatry Residency Program and the Assistant Director for Training and Clinical Education in the Division of Global Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Conteh is a board-certified psychiatrist with specialized expertise in community psychiatry, reproductive psychiatry, and perinatal mental health. Her clinical research explores ethnic identity and disparities in perinatal care, exemplifying her unwavering commitment to advancing health equity. Dr. Conteh’s scholarly contributions have been recognized with numerous prestigious fellowships and awards, including the American College of Psychiatry Laughlin Fellowship, the MGH Clinician Teacher Award, the MGH Global Health Engagement Award, and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Faculty Innovation in Education Award.
