Dennis Jones, PhD, associate professor of pathology & laboratory medicine has received the American Society of Investigative Pathology (ASIP) Cotran Early Career Investigator Award, which recognizes early career investigators who direct meritorious and impactful independent experimental pathology research programs that are focused on improvement of the understanding of the conceptual basis of disease.
“I am honored to receive the Cotran Early Career Investigator Award and grateful to the colleagues who nominated me. I owe a tremendous debt to the mentors who took a chance on me, believed in my potential, and encouraged me through periods when I was uncertain whether I belonged in science. They provided the guidance, patience, and scientific training that helped me grow as a scientist and find confidence in my own path,” he said.
I am equally thankful to the members of my laboratory, past and present, for their dedication, curiosity, and perseverance.
